"Where did the new guy come from..?"

Greetings all! So. I'm sure that some of you may be wondering where the heck I came from and how I started coaching at Motown and Bville.

Here's a somewhat concise explanation...
I started out as a trainer in a good ol' Globo gym. I was introduced to CrossFit by a good buddy of mine and got whooped by "Cindy". I fell in love, hooked an I.V. up to the Kool-Aid, got my Level 1 certification in March of 2009, and was off and running.

My hunger for CrossFit was (and still is) insatiable, and my ability to practice my craft was (and still is) severely hampered at the Globo gym. So, a small group o
f friends and I would gather at the Roselle Catholic track a few times a week. I was finally able to do what I love: coach CrossFit! We eventually dubbed ourselves the BSTA: Brothers and Sisters Through Agony. All that have been through a wod know of the unity pain and suffering can bring; we felt that the name was a fitting testament to that.

I started programming stuff (a lot of which I cringe at when I look at now...), started a jokey blog for the BSTA that became not so jokey...and the group got bigger and bigger. I started meeting with the BSTA more and more...and got disillusioned with Globo more and more.

Then one day, a buddy of mine brought a friend named Leo. Leo went to CrossFit Bernardsville, and he partook in the wod that evening. All went well, I thanked Leo for coming (I'm pretty sure he kicked the crap out of the wod, I think it was pull ups and running), and we all went our separate ways.

Fast forward a few months later. I'm still meeting with the BSTA. And I'm still slogging away at Globo. I get a message from a random phone number...and it's Leo! Apparently the owner of CrossFit Bernardsville, Karianne Dickson, is looking for another coach! And he dropped my name to her...and she wants to meet up and talk about a coaching opportunity?! What?! That was probably the most exciting day of my life...apart from my wedding day (of course).

So lo and behold, that is how I found a home at CrossFit Morristown and CrossFit Bernardsville.

And Leo, I still owe you that drink.
